Build a budget in Canadian dollars
Ask for a written Canadian-dollar quotation for your actual staircase. Acorn Canada’s pricing guide explains that rail length, straight or curved stairs, the number of turns, indoor or outdoor use, chair selection and doorways affect its quotes. It does not publish one fixed price for all homes. National information is a starting point for questions, not a Burlington offer.

Put the same scope beside every total
- Exact model and rail drawing, including every turn and parking extension.
- Seat, swivel, footrest, folding rail and other optional features.
- Delivery, installation, demonstration and any separate electrical preparation.
- Applicable taxes shown separately, with the seller explaining the actual treatment.
- Deposit, cancellation terms, order milestones and any removal charge.
New, professionally reconditioned, or rental?

Availability varies by seller and staircase. A used chair advertised privately is not the same as a complete assessed installation. Confirm support and rail compatibility before buying anything.
Keep aftercare in the comparison
Ask about parts, batteries, labour, travel and call-out costs separately. A component warranty does not automatically cover every visit. Record the service business, normal hours and the instructions for requesting help at your address.
Ask about assistance without assuming eligibility
Do not deduct an assumed grant, insurance payment or tax benefit from the purchase budget. If a funding body or insurer is involved, get its written decision and any pre-approval requirements before ordering. This site does not assess eligibility or promise reimbursement.
Before a Burlington-area assessment
For Burlington, specify Ontario and your postal code when requesting a coverage check. A Hamilton-area or GTA advertisement is not confirmation of an assessment or service visit at your home. Compare the exact rail route and ask which business will handle a future fault visit.
